A VALUABLE antique clock made in Hanslope nearly 300 years ago is due to come under the auctioneer's hammer at Sotherby's London salesroom today (Thursday).
The clock, described as a small walnut marquetry case clock, bears the signature Joseph Knibb at Hanslop and is expected to fetch between £8000-£12000
It has inlays of flowers, five ringed pillars and a shaped aperture and stands 6 foot 5 inches high.
Joseph Knibb was a well known clock maker who set up business in London then moved to Hanslope in1697.
He died in 1711 and clocks bearing his Hanslop signature are rare.
