This Indenture made the nineteenth day of January in the tenth yeare of the Raigne of our soveraigne Lord William the Third by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King defender of the ffaith anno dom one Thousand six hundred ninety and eight  Betweene Joyce  Brent of Hanslop Parke in the county of Buckingham Widdow Relict and Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Bazill Brent late of Hanslop Parke aforsaid Esquire deceased Henry Reynell of Shepperton in the county of Middlesex Esquire and Elizabeth his wife sole daughter and Heire of the aforsaid Bazill Brent her late ffather deceased Edward Partrick of Hoddesdon in the county of Hertford Esquire Thomas Golding of Poslingford in the county of Suffolke Esquire and Thomas Smith of  [?]deston in the said county of Suffolke gentleman of the one parte And the honourable Gervas Pierrepont of Tong Castle in the county of Salop Esquire of the other parte Whereas the aforsaid Bazill Brent was in his lifetyme seized in fee simple or of some other Estate of Inheritance whereof he had power to dispose of and in all that Capitall Messuage or cheife Mansion House with its appurtenances herein after menconed wherein he the said Bazill Brent did inhabite and dwell at or before the tyme of his death situate lyeing and being at Hanslop Parke alias Castlethorpe Parke in the parish of Hanslop in the county of Buckingham And all Houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barnes Stables Orchards Gardens Courts ffouldyards and Backsides whatsoever thereunto belonging used or enjoyed And alsoe of and in all the aforsaid parke walled impaled or inclosed grounds Lands and Tenements with their and every of their hereditaments and appurtenances comonly called or knowne by the name or names of Hanslop Parke alias Castlethorpe Parke together with severall peeces or parcells of ground or land Meadow or pasture Wood and Woodgrounds all which are situate lyeing and being in the said parish of Hanslop aforsaid in the said county of Buckingham and more perticulerly herein after set forth menconed and declared And being soe seized as aforsaid and haveing an absolute power to dispose thereof did in and by his last Will and Testament beareing date the one and Thirtyeth day of August in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand six hundred ninety and one therein and thereby will devise and appointe all the aforsaid capitall Messuage or cheife Mansion House Parke Lodges Lands Leasowes Meadowes peeces and parcells of land grounds Wood and Woodgrounds hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever herein and hereafter menconed to be sold soe soone as conveinently could bee after his decease for the best price that could bee gott for the same and with the moneys raised thereby in the first place to pay one hundred guineas in gold to the aforesaid Joyce Brent his widdow towards dischargeing of his funerall charges (and then amongst other things) to pay and discharge all his gust [just] debts and perticulerly one Mortgage formerly made of the aforsaid Parke Lands Tenements and hereditaments to Sir Thomas Abdy his Executors Administrators and Assignes (and now come to Robert Maltyward gentleman there then being at the tyme of the said Will one Thousand pounds or thereabouts principall money besides interest due upon the same Mortgage and or his said last Will and Testament therein nominated and appointed the said Joyce Brent the sole executrix and soone after the makeing thereof dyed And Whereas the said Joyce Brent his widdow and executrix in due forme of law proved the said Will in the prerogative Courte of Canterbury And Whereas in Trinity Terme in the Ninth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord King William that now is the said Robert Maltyward gentleman and Mary Maidwell widdow on the parte and behalfe of themselves and other creditors of the said Bazill Brent plaintiffs obtayned a Decree in the High and Honourable Courts of the Chancery against the aforsaid Joyce Brent widdow Edward Partrick Thomas Golding Thomas Smith Henry Reynell Elizabeth his wife […] Reynell Elizabeth Reynell and Katherine Reynell […] by the aforsaid Henry Reynell their father and Guardian defendants (amongst other things) for the absolute selling and conveying of the said capitall Messuage or cheife Mansion House with its appurtenances and all the aforsaid Parke Houses Lodges Closes Meadows Leasowes pastures peeces and parcells of Land hereditaments and appurtenances hereinafter menconed according to the Trust and directions of the aforsaid Will and that it should bee forthwith sold to the best purchasor that could be gott for the same to bee approved and allowed of by Sir John Hoskins Knight one of the Masters of that Courte as by the said decree relacon being thereunto had more fully and at large it doth and may appeare And Whereas the aforsaid Master Sir John Hoskins by his Reporte beareing date the fifth day of January  before the day of the date of these present hath thereby approved allowed and Reported the said Gervas Pierrepont to bee the best purchasor of all the aforsaid Capitall Messuage or cheife Mansion House Parke Lodges Houses Lands Meadowes Leasowes pastures peeces and parcells of Lands hereditaments and appurtenances and herein after menconed at the rate of seaven Thousand and five hundred pounds being the purchase money to bee paid for the same Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Joyce Brent Henry Reynell Elizabeth his wife Edward Partrick Thomas Golding and Thomas Smith in pursuance of the said Decree and for and in consideration of the sum of Seaven Thousand and two hundred pounds of lawfull money of England to them or some or one of them in hand paid or secured to be paid by the said Gervas Peirrepont at and before the sealeing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they the said Joyce Brent Henry Reynell Elizabeth his wife Edward Partrick Thomas Golding and Thomas Smith doe hereby acknowledge and thereof and at of every parte thereof doe hereby acquitt release and discharge the said Gervas Pierrepont his heirs excutors Administrators and Assignes forever by these present (which said sume of Seaven Thousand and two hundred pounds is the same sume and consideration money menconed in one Indenture of Release beareing even date with these presents and made betweene the said partyes) And for diverse other  good causes and considerations them here unto especially moveing They the said Joyce Brent Henry Reynall Eizabeth his wife Edward Partrick Thomas Golding and Thomas Smith Have granted bargained and said And by these presents Doe grant bargaine and sell unto the said Gervas Pierrepont his Heires and Assignes forever All that the aforsaid capitoll Messuage or chiefe Mansion House with the appurtenances wherein the said Bazill Brent at the tyme of his death or then late before dwelt situate and being in Hanslop alias Castlethorpe Parke aforsaid in the parish of Hanslop in the county of Buckingham with all Houses Outhouses Barnes Buildings Gardens Orchards ffoulds ffouldyards and Curtilages to the same belonging used or appurtayneing and all the now or  late parke walled impaled or inclosed grounds Lands and Tenements comonly called or knowne by the name of Hanslop Parke alias Castlethorpe Parke lyeing and being the said parish and County aforsaid And all the lodges lands meadowes pastures woods underwoods and hereditaments situate lyeing and being with in the aforsaid  now or late parke called or knowne by the name of Hanslop Parke alias Castlethorpe Parke or within the walled paled Compasse Circuit or precincts of the said now or late parke and called Hanslop alias Castlethorpe Parke aforsaid And alsoe all that Meadow ground parcell of Land with the appurtenances lyeing without the walled paled Compasse Circuit or precints of the said now or late Parke and contayning by estimation ffifteene Acres beit more or less comonly called or knowne by the name of Bure Meade otherwise the Lords Meadowe near adjoyneing to the Town of Castlethorpe And also one Close called the Powed Close contayneing by estimation ffowerteene Acres and two perches And alsoe one peece of ground comonly called Hanger … contayneing by estimation ffive Acres two Roods and Twenty eight perches and alsoe one Copice or woodgrounds contayneing by estimation Six Acres Three Roods and Twenty ffive perches All which said last menconed premisses are situate lyeing and being within the Parish of Hanslop aforsaid in the said County of Buckingham and are near adjoyneing unto the said now or late Parke or inclosed ground called Hanslop alias Castlethorpe Parke And all and singular wayes waters watercourses Woods underwoods Lodges Ditches walled [?] ffreeboards wastgrounds ffurzes Heathes Marishes Comons ffishings Rent Revertions ffranchizes priviledges easements proffitts comodityes [?] hereditaments and appurtenances of or belonging to the said now called Parke and other the said premisses or to any of them or to one with all and every or any parte thereof used occupyed enjoyed demised1 or reputed esteemed or taken as parte parcell or member the [?] and all and singular other the Messuages parkes Lands Tenements Meadowes pastures and hereditaments whatsoever that are situate lyeing and being within the parish of Hanslop aforsaid that the said Bazill Brent dyed seized of or had power to dispose thereof at the tyme of his death And the Revertion and Revertions Remainder and Remainders Rents and services of all and singular the afforsaid premisses and of every parte and parcell thereof except hereafter (excepted) And all the Estate right Tythe interest use Trust possession claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Joyce Brent Henry Reynall Elizabeth his wife Edward Partrick Thomas Golding and Thomas Smith their Heires and Assignes and every of them (Except the yearly ffee ffarme Rent of Tenn pounds yearly out of the said premisses) And alsoe one Lease of the said premises now in being for the Remainder of the Terme of one Thousand yeares now in Mortgage or otherwise come to the said Robert Maltywards for the sume of one Thousand Three hundred and sixty pounds or therabouts principall money besides interest being parte of a greater sume lent at the making of the said Lease and which is agreed by and betweene the said Partyes to bee assigned over to attend the Inheritance of the said premisses hereby puchased by the said Gervas Pierrepont And all deeds Evidences and writeings that concerne the said premisses or any parte thereof only and true coppyes of all other deeds and writeings that concerne the premisses or any parte thereof joyntly with any other Lands or Tenements to bee written out and coppyed at the charges of the said Gervas Pierrepont his Heirs or Assignes And also except the Rents services customes from henceforth to be come due and payable to the Cheife Lord or Lords of the ffee or ffees thereof To have and to hold the aforsaid Capitall Messuage or Cheife Mansion House Parke Lodges Lands Meadowes Leasowes pastures peeces and parcells of Lands hereditaments and all and singular other the premisses herein before menconed (except before excepted) with their and every of their hereditaments and appurtences unto the said Gervas Pierrepont his Heirs and Assignes forever To the only use and behoofe of him the said Gervas Pierrepont his Heirs and Assignes forever and to and for none other use intent or purpose whatsoever to be holden of the Cheife Lord or Lords of the ffee or ffees by the suites and services thereof due and of right accustomed to bee paid And it is hereby Covenanted declared and fully agreed by and betweene all the said partyes to these presents for themselves and their Heires severally and not joyntly That all and every ffine and ffines Recovery or Recoveryes and all and every further and other Act and Acts thing and things Afterward and Afterwards whatsoever of the said Capitall Messuage or cheife Mansion House Park Lodges Lands Meadowes Leasowes pastures peeces and parcells of Lands and premisses hereby intended to bee bargained and sold with their and every of their hereditaments and appurtenances (except before excepted) that shall at any tyme or tymes hereafter within the space of seaven yeares next ensueing the date of these presents be had made Levyed suffered and Executed by the … these presents or their Heirs or whereunto they or any of them shalbee partyes or party shalbee and … and shalbee construed adjudged deemed and taken to bee and … to the use and behoofe of the said Gervas Pierrepont his Heirs and Assignes forever and to or for noe other use intent or purpose whatsoever In wittnesse whereof the partyes above named to these presents their Hands and seales Interchangeably have put the day and yeare first above written
