Transcribers notes: This inscription was recorded in the 1960s by Andrew Cox a descendant. Around the year 2000 the stone was found but the inscription was largely unreadable. This inscription was on the back of a headstone originally prepared to commemorate Joseph Cox Sen. (died 1759 and his wife Elizabeth (died 1762)

Transcribers notes: Around the year 2000 when a survey of gravestones was made, this inscription was missed. The photograph below was made from a print made from a Kodachrome slide taken in the 1960s. The reverse side of the gravestone recorded Charles and Lucretia Cox. This second inscription was noticed in 2000, but was then almost unreadable.

The original information on monuments was recorded in a survey conducted in 1994.

A considerable effort went into deciphering inscriptions that had been eroded through time, the elements and even - at times - enthusiastic wire brushing!  Not all inscriptions remain, but anything which could be deciphered was recorded, even where names, dates, etc were incomplete.

Like most churchyards, changes take place as old stones fall, are broken, become eroded, or are cleared to assist maintenance of the area.  Some of the inscriptions which were recorded in 1994 may no longer be legible or even in existence.

Following an additional survey, the list has now been updated to the year 2000.  The majority of the new entries are in the areas marked as Cr. or Recent Burials on the map.
