In the name of God Amen I Christopher Coates of Hanslop in the County of Bucks Cordwayner being sicke in body but of perfect rememberance thanks bee given to god ffor the same doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following first I bequeath my soule to Almighty god who created it to Jesus Christ who hath redeemed through whose death and passion I hope and am assured to have salvation and to the holy Ghost who hath sanctifyed and preserved mee three persons and but one god whom I doe adore and will acknowledge for ever and my body to the earth from whence it came Item I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne Christopher Coates and to his heires for ever All that my messuage or Tenement with thappurtenances in Long Street end in the parish of Hanslop aforesaid in the said County of Bucks now being in the tenure and occupation of mee the said Christopher with all and singular the yards orchards gardens and backsides thereunto belonging and therewith heretofore used occupied or enioyed Provided alwaies and my will is that Elizabeth my now wife shall have possese and enioy the Hall and Garden plott belonging and being parcell of the said messuage or Tenement and premisses and situate and being on the South end of the said messuage or Tenement and premisses together with ffree ingresse egresse and regresse to Through and from the gates there being on the streetes side to and from the pond there for the fetching of water and her other necessarie occassions for and during her naturall life in Leiu and satisfaction of her dower that in right ought to belong unto her out of the same premisses after my decease and not otherwise And alsoe provided alwaies and my will is that my said sonne Christopher Coates shall pay out of my said messuage or Tenement the summes of money heereafter following that is to say unto my sonne John Coates and his Assignes the summe of Seaven pounds within one yeare after my decease and unto my sonne Thomas Coates the summe of ffour pounds at his comming to the age of one and twenty yeares and unto my daughter Elizabeth Coates the summe of forty shillings at her age of Eighteen yeares or day of Marriage which shall ffirst happen and to my said wife Elizabeth Twenty shillings all the rest of my goods Cattles and Chattels my debts being paid and my funerall expences discharged I give unto my said wife Elizabeth whom I make executrix of this my last will and Testament And I do hereby renounce and revoke all other and former wills by mee made In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Nynth day of November in the yeare of our Lord one Thousand six hundred fforty two The marke of Christopher Coates Signed sealed and published in the presence of Thomas Whitehead Sen.
