This is the last will and Testament of me Mary Wiloughby of Tathallend in the parish of Hanslope in the County of Bucks Spinster who now through Gods mercy and of disposeing mind and memory doe therefore give my soule into the hands of God who gave it hopeing for his mercy in the merrits of my blessed saviour Jesus Christ God blessed forever and my body to be decently buried where my Executors shall thinke fitt and as for my personall estate wherewith God has blessed and dispose as as followeth First I give and bequeath unto my Executors all my mortgages Bonds Judgements and all other my personall Estate whatsoever after the payment of my debts and legacys but never the less upon the speciall trusts hereby me declared and appointed by this my Will I give unto my uncle major John Willoughby two guinnes and to my Aunt Sleeford two guinnes and a paire of flaxon Sheets and my will and meaning is that if either of them dye before the time by me limitted for the payment of them that the Survivor shall have the dead legatees legacy I give unto my three Cosens daughters of my said Aunt that is to say Frances Mary and Martha and to each of them a guiney apeice and my six silver Spoones to be equally devided amongst them and if either of them dye or any two of them before such time as the legacys become due the survivours or survivour shall have all the said legacys equally to be devided between them Item I give to my Lady L..lman a guiney And to my cosen Mary Willoughby and to Mrs Lane my brother Lanes Mother and to his two sisters and to Mrs Mary Warrcopp and to Mrs Ann Lane and to Mrs Daviss and to Mrs Tompson and to Elizabeth Winn and to Mary Walker and to my cosen Robert Perkins and to Mrs Dorothy Farmer and to each of them a ring of ffiveteen Shillings value in memory of me Item I give unto all my God children ten Shillings apeice I give unto my brothers Edward Lane my double bread(?) peece of gould and forty shills in sillver all which said legacys I appoint to be paid a yeare after my decease and if it shall happen that any of the said legatees shall depart this life before their respective legaceys shall become due the said legaceys shall returne to and be deemed as part of my personall Estate Item I give unto my brother John Bellamy ffifty pounds to be paid him two yeares after my decease and if he happen to depart this life before the time limitted for the payment thereof then the said ffifty pounds shall returne and be taken as part of my personall Estate Item I give to the poore of Hanslope ffive pounds and to the poore of Alsaints in Northampton five pounds and to the poore of St ....s in the said Towne five pounds and to the poore of Grindon in Northamptonshire five pounds all which said legacys shall be paid a yeare after my decease also I give and bequeath twenty shillings every yeare to be paid by my Executors or the survivor of them to the Churchwardens of Grindon aforesaid to be laid out in bread to be distributed amongst the poore of the said parish every St Thomas day for twenty yeares next  after my decease the first payment to be the first Saint Thomas after my decease And whereas  my late father did give to my brother Phillip Willoughby thirtey pounds a yeare during my said brothers life which said Annuity my sister Sarah Lane and I was to pay by Equall moiteys  And whereas it was agreed between my brother Edward Lane and I after his marriage with my said sister Sarah that he should pay unto my said brother Phillip every yeare during my said brother Phillips life one ffifteen pounds and did agreed to pay the other fifteene pounds yearely during my brother  Phillips life and till I could make some other assurance for the for the payment thereof I delivered into the hands of my brother Edward Lane a mortgage made to me by one Richard Parrott of Castlethorp in the County of Bucks for the securing of the payment of three hundred and ffiftey pounds with interest I doe hereby direct my said brother Lane to deliver the said mortgage to my Executors and for the true payment of the said fiveteene pounds yearely during my said Brother Phillips life I doe charge five hundred pounds of my personall Estate for the payment thereof and direct my Executors out of the interest of the said five hundred pounds to pay unto my said brother Phillip fiveteen pounds a yeare during his life as my moitey of the said thirty pounds a yeare given by my said father and after the death of my said brother Phillip I direct and appoint that the said five hundred pounds  shall returne and be taken as part my personall Estate I give unto my sister Sarah Lane the use of all my goods and plate dureing her life likewise I give unto my said sister and direct my said Executors yeare by yeare to pay unto her the remainder of the interest of the said five hundred pounds and when my brother Phillip dyes I give and direct that my Executors shall pay to my said Sister all the Interest of the said five hundred pounds and I doe farther give unto my said Sister and direct my Executors to pay unto her yearely dureing her life all the interest of my money whatseover (TheTwenty Shillings a yeare which by my said will I have given to the poore of Grindon for twenty yeares first being deducted) to be by her from time to time disposed on as if she was Sole and unmarried and my further  will and meaning is and I doe soe devise and direct that if my said Sister depart this life leaving Issue of her body then I give all my personall Estate with the five hundred pounds so charged as aforesaid unto her issue or issues equally to be devided amongst them but if my said sister shall depart this life leaving no Issue I will and devise as followeth first I give unto my said sister Sarah the sume of two hundred pounds to be by her disposed of by her last Will or by any other writing as if shee was sole and unmarried Item I give unto my three cosens Sleefords that is to say Frances Mary and Martha and to each of them a hundred pounds and my will is that if any of them dye before the said legacy become due that the survivors shall have it equally devided between them and if two of them should happen to dye before the said legacyes become due then the surivor shall have all the said legacys I give to my brother John Bellamy the sume of fifty pounds and if he depart this life before the said legacy is due and payable I devise the said fifty pounds to be equally devided amongst his children Item I give to the Churchwardens of Grinden aforesaid the sume of two hundred pounds to by them laid out in a purchase of some lands forever to the value of the said two hundred pounds the purchase to be approved by my Executors or the survivour of them the said purchase to be made within one yeare after the payment of the said two hundred pounds to the said Churchwardens and my will is that all the rents and proffits of the said land shall by the said Churchwardens be paid by equall quarterly payments to one poor maid of the said parish of Grindon who shall be thought a fitt object of Charity And I doe will and direct that the parson of the said parish and the Churchwardens or any two of them shall from time to time as need shall requre forever have the appointment of the said poore maid of the said parish who shall receive the said rents and proffits and my will is that the maid soe appointed shall all the time shee lives unmarried and demeans herselfe chastly and honestly and as long as she continues a fitt object of Charity receive by the hands of the Churchwardens all the rents and proffits of the said land but after the death marriage breach of chastity or of honesty or her becoming not a fitt object of Charity then within one month after any of those contingences shall happen I appoint that the parson and Churchwardens or any two of them shall from time to time for ever appoint an other poore maid of the said parish to receive the said rents subject to the conditions before expressed And my express will and meaning is that if any of my maiden relations of what parish soever shall become fitt objects of Charity and shall apply themselves to the parson and Church Wardens or to any two of them when the said Charity is vacant I direct and require the said parson and Churchwardens to appoint the said maid so requesting to receive the said rents and proffits subject nevertheless to the conditions and contingences before expressed and further I will and require that if at any time  dureing the life of the maid that so receives the charity any of my poore maiden relations make request as afore directed to be appointed after the death or other contingences shall happen to the maiden soe receiveing that the said parson and churchwardens or any two of them to appoint the said maiden to receive the said charity Subject to the conditions before expressed after the charity is vacant by my contingency whatsoever I appoint all these said legacys to be paid within halfe a yeare after the death of my sister Sarah without issue all the rest and residue of my personall Estate after the legacys paid I give and bequeath unto my cousen Ambrose Saunders of Sibertofte in Northamptonshire I appoint Sir John Holman Baronett and the said Ambrose Saunders my Executors and doe give them and the survivor of them power from time to time to call in any sume of money and to place it out upon what securitys they thinke proper and with the said power to put out my money that is paid in subject to the trusts aforesaid. I give to each of my Executors five guines to be paid within halfe a yeare after my death and I doe further direct that they or the survivour shall deduct all moneys they or either of them shall expend about the maneging of the said trusts out of the principall money I doe hereby revoke all former wills and Testaments  In witness whereof I the said Mary Willoughby have to this my last will and Testament sett my hand and seale this Nineteenth day of November in the yeare of our Lord Christ one thousand Six hundred Ninty and two Mary Willoughby Signed and sealed by the within named Mary Willoughby and by her published and declared to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who as witness of the same have in her presence subscribed our names Mary Warcopp Kathirina Farmar Richard Buckby

Mary Willoughby doe own the Testament  Signed and seald by me the Ninteenth day of November Ano Dom 1692 Mary Warcop Catharin ffarmar Rich.Buckby being witnesses to be my last will: And doe hereby allowe it to be in full force and vertue except in these following particulars which I doe here anex by way of codicill to that my last will (viz) The rings that I therein mention to be worth 15s apeice shall be but of ten shillings value. I will also that no legacys shall be paid untill a twelve month after my decease if my sister Lane shall dye before my brother Lane then I appoint that her children shall enjoy whatsover is mine or did in any way belong to me (whether goods plate or money) when they shall come to the age of Sixteene yeares: And whereas I did bequeath the rest and residue of my estate after the legacyes paid to Mr Ambrose Saunders if my sister Lane should dye without Issue. I doe hereby bequeath it all to my sister Lane to be disposed of as shee shall think fitt by her last will and Testament  In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this twenty fourth of January Anno Dom 1698 Mary Willoughby Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Henry Maurice Jane Farmar The marke of Jane Cook
