In the Name of God Amen the Thirteenth day of November in the Year of our Lord God 1729 I Richard Reading of Hanslap in the County of Bucks Brickmaker Being very sick and weak in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die Do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of All I give and Recomend My Soul into the Hands of God that gave it and for my Body I comend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian like and decent Manner at the discretion of my Executors Nothing doubting that at the Generall Resurrection I shall Receive the Same again by the Mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me in this life I give Devise and Dispose of the Same in the following Manner and form Imprimis I give and Bequeath to Mary my Dearly Beloved Wife whom I Likewise Constitute Make and Ordain my only and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament All and Singular my Lands Messuages and Tenements by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed as one House with Barns Stables outhouses and pottash potts and the yard containing one Acre be it more or less and also one Acre of Land being it more or less Lying and Being in Starch(?) Corner and one Acre of Land Lying and Being in Highcroft and one Acre of Land lying and Being in Lyfield and also one Pightle lying for one half Acre be it more of Less Lying and Being near Starch (?) Corner all being within the          of Hanslope Dureing her Naturall life and also I give and Bequeath unto my Beloved wife above mentioned all my Goods Chattells Ready Moneys Debts Dues and Demands whatsoever or wheresoever at her own Disposeing and as she shall think most proper for her own advantage and my Will and Pleasure is that after the Death of my Well Beloved wife that all my Houses Lands and Tenements herein mentioned shall be Sold and the Moneys Equally Divided Between my five Children hereafter Mentioned that is to say my Daughter Elizabeth Reding and my Sons James Reading Edward Reding William Reding and Joseph Reding Note and unto my Son Richard Reding I give and Bequeath One Shilling and no more and if either my Daughter Elizabeth Reading or any of my Sons chance to Die before my Beloved wife Mary Reding that then my Houses Lands and Tenements shall after the Death of my wife Mary Reding be sold and the Moneys Equally Divided between the Rest of my Children that shall be surviveing as above mentioned And I do Hereby Utterly Disallow Revoak and Disannull all and every other former Testaments Wills and Legacies Requests and Executors by me in any ways Before this time Named Willed and Bequeathed Ratifying and Comfirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament  In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this Thirteenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord 1729 The Mark of Richard Reding Signed Sealed published and Declared by the said Richard Reading Sen. as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscribers Viz: Will Jennings John Warren the Mark of Mary Keetch         Proved 14th October 1730
