 In the name of god Amen: The sixteenth daie of November in the twelveth yeare of the raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of god of England, Scotland ffrance and Ireland Kinge, defender of the faith etc and in the yeare of our lord god 1636 I Richard Glanister of Hanslapp in the countie of Bucks: Husbandman beinge sicke in bodie, but of sound and perfect memorye for which I give the lord praise, doe institute, ordaine and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge;  ffirst and especially, I give and bequeath my soule into the mercifull protection, of god the father, god the sonne, and god the holy ghoste;  not doubtinge but earnestlie and stedfastly beleeveinge, that my sinnes are pardoned and forgiven me; and that alone by the meritts of my blessed saviour and redeemer Christ Jesus, by whose blood my sinnes weare washed away; and I stedfastlie beleeve that I shall be an inheritour of everlastinge life; And my bodie I comend unto the earth, from whence it came, to be buried in the churchyard of Hanslapp aforesaide accordinge to the discretion of the executors of this my last will and testament; and as concerning the temporall estate, which it hath pleased god, to bestowe on me, I dispose theareof in manner and forme followinge;  ffirste my will is and I give and bequeathe unto Willyam Glanister my sonne all that acre and a halfe of arrable lande, be it more or lesse, lyinge dispersedly in the the feildes of Hanslapp aforesaide; wheareof  one acre and one roode by estimation lye in Bretchfeilde, and the other roode by estimation lyeth in Baulney feilde, togeather with all the heads balkes and appurtenances theareunto belonginge and all my estate, right and title theareunto; as alsoe all and every the writings which anywaies concerne the same to be delivered to my saide sonne by my executors; and my will is that my wife shall enioye the saide acre and a halfe of arrable lande with the appurtenances for and duringe the tearme of twentie and one yeares, if in case my saide wife shall so long live; payinge thearefore yearely unto my sonne Willyam duringe the tearme of Twentie and one yeares as aforesaide the yearely rente of one penny, at the feast daie of St Michaell the Archangell the same beinge lawfully demanded, and not otherwise  Item I give and bequeath to everyone of the children of my saide sonne Willyam (his daughter Anne onely excepted) twentie shillinges;  Item I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Willyam ffortie shillinges, and one of my hockeferes, at the choice of my said sonne Willyam;  Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Glanister, the daughter of my saide sonne Willyam ffive pounds of currant mony of England;  Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Travill ffortie shillinges, to be disposed of by her for the benefitt and behoofe of her chilldren;  Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Pettie fourtie shillinges to be likewise disposed of by her for the best use and behoofe of her chilldren;  Item I give and bequeath unto Alice my daughter tenn pounds of currant mony of England and allsoe the ioyned bedsteede in the halle and all the furniture theareunto belonginge;  and alsoe the penn and cupboard standinge in the saide halle, and one brasse pott; and my further will is, that my said daughter Alice shall suffer my saide wife quietly and peaceablie to use for her owne use onely, the saide beddsteede and furniture, penn, cupboard, and pott, duringe the life, of my saide wife, and not otherwise;  Item my will is that my sonne Richard Glanister, shall paie and dischardge unto my saide chilldren, and allso unto theire chilldren all and every the summes of money formerly bequeathed, out of my freeholde lands, and not to be yssueinge out of my goodes, or any parte of the same; Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife, duringe and for the tearme of her naturall life, all that parte of my howse, which lyeth from the entry southward togeather with the orchard lying next to the howse of Thomas Clarridge; and allso the one moytie of the barne, and all my other outwarde howses, sett out by my saide sonne Richard, at the choice and election of my saide wife,  Item I further give and bequeath unto my saide wife duringe her life, and not otherwise, all that part of my cloase as it is nowe demanded and sett out next adoiymeing unto my yarde and howse;  Item I give and bequeath unto my saide sonne Richard all and singular my freeholde land wheresoever lyinge in the parishe of Hanslapp;  the one moytie or halfe part of my arrable lande lyinge in Cooke feilde which I give and bequeath unto my saide wife for and duringe her naturall life onely foreprised and excepted and to the heires of the saide Richard my sonne for ever;  Item my will is that if my saide sonne Richard shall happen to dye without any yssue of his bodie lawfullie begotten;  that then all the saide lande whatsoever formerly bequeathed unto my saide Sonne Richard shall from thenceforth remayne  and or any of them given come to Willyam Glanister my sonne, and to his heires for ever;  Item my further will is, that if either of my chilldren, or any of theire chilldren unto whome theare is any legacie or legacies bequeathed shall happen to dye before the said legacies shall growe due and payable to them or any of them;  that then notwithstandinge, the legacies to them or either or any of them given shall remayne and come to the sirvivor or sirvivors of them and either of them anythinge herein contayn ed to the contrary heareof in any wise and withstandinge;  Item my will is that my saide sonne Richard shall paie and dischardge all the legacies of mony formerly given to any other of my chilldren, or to either of theire chilldren within one whole yeare next after my decease; and that he shall paie the five pounds bequeathed to Anne Glanister unto Griffine Travill my sonne in lawe, to be put out by him the saide Griffine for the onely use and behoofe of the saide Anne Glanister, and to no other use or purpose whatsoever;  and my will further is that my sonne Richard shall accept of the securitie of the parents of any the chilldren unto whome any legacie is given as a full dischardge;  Item the residue and remainder of all my goods cattle and chattles my debts, legacies, and funerall chardges first paide and satisfied, I give and bequeath unto Judith Glanister my wife, and to Richard Glanister my sonne whome I make and ordaine executors of this my last will and testament;  In witnes wheareof I have heareunto set my hande and seale the daie and yeare first above written;  Sealed published and declared in the presence of Henry Pettie, Vic  Troughton Sen.
