Henry Tatam de Hanslop

In the name of god ame[n] the yere of o[u]r lord god 1544
the viijth day of Auguste I he[n]ry Tatam in the p[ar]ishe
of hanslop sicke in body but thankes be god good of
remembrance dothe & make and ordeyne this my
laste will in forme and man[ner] here folowing Fyrste
I bequethe my soule unto allmighty god and to o[u]r Lady
sainte Marye and to all the saintes in heven and
my body to be buryd in churche yard of the apostell sainte
James in Hanslop In primis I give and bequethe
unto the mother churche of Lincoln a ijd It[em] to the
high alter in Hanslop for tithes for gotten iiijd It[e]m to
evryon of my godchildren ijd apece It[e]m to Andrew
my sone a brasse pott and a panne & vs of money
It[e]m I will th[a]t El[i]sab[et]h Knight my daughter in lawe
having deducted out of my goods & iiijl xs all
other goods or in moneye according unto her fathers
will at the sighte of william Inge and Sel(?) Perett(?)
Also I will that my house be sowlde at the
advisment of my sone Sr William and the money
thereof to pay my debets and for to bring me to the
grownde The reste of my goods my debets
payd I geve and bequeth unto annes my wiffe
w[hi]ch I make and ordeyne my full executrix she
to paye my debetts and receave my debets & see
this my laste will fulfillyd Also I make and orde
yne William Inge my sup[er]visor? to s[e]e this my will

Line 19 - Sr may be short for "senior" ie "elder"

 

The will is followed by an inventory valuation, and probate (in Latin) which have not been translated.
But the inventory valuation can be read as £5-13-4,
and the date and place of probate as 21st March 1547/48, at Stoney Stratford.
