In the name of God Amen The 23rd day of Aprill An.Din 1638 I Hugh Brice of Hanslapp beinge sicke in body but of good perfect memory, thankes bee unto God for it doe and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge ffirst I bequeath my Soule unto the handes of allmighty God my maker and redeemer by whose death and merits I hope to bee saved  And my bodie to ye ground from whence it was taken in sure and certaine hope of a ioyfull resurreccon at ye Last day  And of all my worldly goodes I dispose as followeth  Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Richard Sharp of Greate Lynford my Lovinge kinsman and to his heires for ever all my house wherein I now dwell situate in Hanslap aforesaid withall and every the app[ur]tenances And all my ffree-hold land and Lease-hold-land lyinge and beinge within the parish of Hanslap aforesid after the decease of Anne my now wife.  Item I give unto William Tomkins my god-sonne the sume of 5 shillings to bee paid within one hole yeare after ye decease of my wife  Item I give unto Margerie Tomkins my Sister 10 d  All other my goodes and Cattell moveable and unmoveables within ye house and without unbequeathed I give unto Anne my lovinge wife and all my house free=hold -land and lease-hold-land during her naturall life  Savinge that my will is shee shall lease some thinge in the house att her discrecon for my said kinsman Richard Sharpe  And I make and ordaine Anne my now wife my sole and whole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament And I make my faithfull friendes William Cooke and Raphe Cowley iunior Overseers of this my Last will and Testament and by vertue thereof I doe give unto them xy d apeece  The marke and seale of Hugh Brice  Wittnesses John Kittens  Robert Kilbie
