In the name of God amen The sixth day of Aprill Anno Domini A Thousand six hundred and Nyne I George Grene of Hanslapp in the Countie of Buckingham gent being sicke in body but of good and perfect remembrance (Thankes be to Almighty God) doe make and sett downe this my last and Testament in manner and forme following. ffyrst I bequeath my soule to Almighty God my Maker trusting to be saved by my saviour and redeemer Jesus Christe And my body to be buryed in the parish Church of Hanslapp aforesayd Also I give to the Mother Church of Lyncolne fower pence. All the rest of my goodes which it hath pleased Almighty God to endue me with in this world I give and bequeath them in manner and forme following. ffyrst I gyve and bequeath to Sir Guy fforster knight my kynsman the summe of one hundred poundes currant English money. Item I give and bequeathe to Edmunde fforster the only sonne of Laurence fforster gent my kinsman the like summe of One hundred poundes of Currant English money. Item I give and bequeathe to Jane fforster my kinswoman the sume of one hundred poundes of lawfull English mony Item I give and bequeath unto Barbara Cotes my kinswoman the wief of Henry Cotes gent the summe of Twenty poundes currant English money Item I give and bequeath to John fforster gent my kynsman the like summe of Twenty poundes of like currant money of England. And I give and bequeath to Jane Trafford my kynswoman one of the daughters of Christopher Trafford gent the summe of Twenty poundes of like currant English money. Item I give and bequeathe to Joane Asherby one of the Mayd servants of Sir Guy fforster the summe of Tenn shillinges And unto Mary Clarke another of the Mayd servantes of the sayd Sir Guy fforster the like somme of Tenn Shillings. Item I give and bequeath to the poore people of Hanslapp aforesayd the summe of fortie shillinges to be distributed to them at the discretion of my Executor. And I doe by this my last will and Testament ordayne and make the sayd Laurence ffortster my kynsman to be my sole and only Executor of this my last will and testament, And to him the sayd Laurence fforster I doe gyve and bequeath all the rest of my goodes and Chattells whatsoever to see my debts payd and my funerall discharged And I doe intreate and desire my welbeloved friend Christopher Cotes gent of Hanslapp and Henry Cotes his sonne to be my Overseers to see this my last Will and Testament inst[ant]ly performed and fulfilled within fortie dayes next after it hath pleased god to call my out of this world And for their paynes thein to be taken I doe give to them Twenty Shillinges a peece.
