In the name of God Amen the ffiteenth day of December 1686 Thomas Travell of Hanslope Labourer being in body weake and Ill but in memory and understanding sound and firm thanks be to Allmighty God for it but Considering that all fflesh must Dye when it shall please God to call I doe at this time make my will and Testament in manner and forme ffollowing ffirst I Bequeath my Soule to God that gave it trusting that through the Meritorious Death of Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to have free pardon and forgiveness for all my Sins past present to come and my Body to the Earth to be Buryed in Christian Buriall at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named: Imprimis I give my three Acres of Land lyeing one Acre in huls field one in hicroft and the other in Linfield with the sidling in huls field to my loveing Wife Susan Travell to be disposed of as she shall see occasion for and towards the bringing up of my Children: Item I give and Bequeath one parte of my house called the Kitching to my Daughter Elizabeth Travell at the Age of four and Twenty yeares with parte of the Orchard And my will is that my Sonn Robert Travell whom I doe nominate to have the other parte of the house shall have Liberty to Redeeme that parte of the house and yard before mentioned for Tenn pounds of lawfull money of England within one yeare after his Mothers Decease And if it shall please God that the Child shall live till then which is not yet borne that is to have halfe the Tenn pounds before mentioned And my will is that if it shall please God that my Children should Dye before my Wife She shall have the House dureing her Life And I doe nominate and appoint my loveing Wife Susan Travell to be my whole Executrix And I doe desire and Intreate my loveing friend and Brother John Rawlins and my Brother Joseph ffoocks to be the overseers of this my will In wittness hereof I have sett to my hand and seale the day and yeare of our Lord first above written the marke of Thomas Travell This will was Signed Sealed and Don in the presence of William Cooke The marke of Thomas Gaudron John Lee
