In the name of God Amen I John Smithe of Salcey Forrest Page being weake in Bodie but of good and perfect memory  blessed be Allmighty God for it, doe make and bequeath my soule to God my maker and Creator  And to Jesus my Saviour and Redeemer and to the Holy Ghost my Sanctifier and preserver  And my Bodie to be decently buryed in hope Resurecon to Eternall life by the merits of Jesus Christ  And for theise my worldly (estate) which God of his infinite Mercy hath given mee I doe give in manner following  ffirst I doe give to my eldest Sonne John Smith one shilling to bee paid within one yeare after my decease  Alsoe unto my Sonne George Smith I give one shillinge to bee paid within the time aforesaid  Alsoe I give to my Daughter Mary the wife of John Haynes one shilling to bee paid within the time aforesaid  Alsoe I give to my Daughter Marys three children John, Katherine and Mary six pounds to bee equally devided amongst them   And to bee paid for theire use and benefitt within two full yeares after my Decease  Alsoe I give to my Sonne Charles Smith my Gray (three yeare old) Mare   Alsoe I doe give to my Daughter Roda Smithe my Pide bullock  All the rest of my household goodes Catell and Chattells unbequeathed  my Debts and ffunerall beinge defrayed  I doe give unto my foure Children hereafter mentioned That is to say Charles, Rody, Barbera and Anne  To bee equally devided amongst them  And I doe make and Ordaine my Sonne Charles Smith to bee the Executor of this my last Will and Testament and in full power and trust to see this my will fulfilled  And in Testimony that this is my last will and Testament  I have hereunto sett my hand and seale This Twelveth day of May in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand six hundred fiftie and Eight  The marke of John Smithe Sealed and Acknowledged in the presence of John Houseman and Joseph Dankes

The condicon of this obligation is such that whereas the Administracon of all and singular the goodes debts and chattells of John Smith late of Salcey fforrest in ye p[ar]ish of Hanslapp in the County of Archdeaconry of Bucks deceased according to the Tenor of the last will and Testament of the said John Smith dec[eas]ed  Administratores of by Charles Smith sonne and Ex[ecu]tor named in ye said will who dyed before her ..... the same is comitted unto ye above bonnd Anne Smith lawfull and naturall daughter off there foresaid Administratrix   I well and truly shall Adminster all and singular ye said goodes debts and Chattells of the said dec[eas]ed in payinge the debts and Legacies  if anie  suche of the s[ai]d dec[eas]ed soe far as ye said goodes debts and chatells will  thereunto extend and the law               and a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular ye said goodes debts and chattells of the said deceased indifferently apprized I shall make or cause to bee made and the same into the Publique Registry of the Archdeaconry of Bucks shall exhibit And a true and perfect Accompt.  of and upon her said Administracon beinge thereunto Lawfully called and required shall yield upp and render  And out of the remainder (if anie bee) upon her said Accompt. it beinge first examined admitted and allowed in forme of law  such part porcons and sumes of money unto such person and persons as shall have interest therein and to other persons uses as by the law Comissary Officer according to the Tenor of the said will shall be assinged limitted and appointed  shall accordingly distribute satisfie and pay  And issue the above bonnd  Anne Smith and Henry Woolfe their heries executors and administrators doe and shall for ever  hereafter save and keepe harmlesse and indemnified  the said Comissary and all theire officers whomsoever of and from all suites accons demands and  Incumbrances which may in aine sort          and bee by reason of the premises then this obligacons to bee voyd or else to stand in full fource and vertue    Sealed and delivered   Anne Smith in the presence of John Hensman Robert Greene the sign of Henri  Woolfe           19 November 1668
