In the Name of God Amen the SIxteenth day of May in the third yeare of the Reigne of their most Excellent Majesties William and Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King and Queen defenders of the ffaith Anno Dom 1691 I John Wilkinson of Tattall End in the parish of Hanslapp in the County of Bucks gent being in health of Body and of a Sound and perfect minde and Memory (praised be God for the same) doe make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament in maner and fforme ffollowing (That is to say) ffirst and principally I Comend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God that gave it by whom of his meer and only Grace and mercy I trust to be saved and received into Eternall Rest through the Merits and Mediacon of my ever blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the Earth in hope and full assurance of a Joyfull and happy Resurrection to be decently interred by my Executrix hereafter named and as for my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me withall I dispose of the same as followeth (that is to say) Item I give and devise unto my Son John Wilkinson and to his heires and assigned for ever all that my Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances Situtate lyeing and being in gore field in or neare the parishes of Stoake Goldington and Hanslapp in the County of Bucks or one of them together with all houses Ediffices buildings Barns Stables Yards Orchards Gardens backsides Courtyards Moates ways Easements proffitts and Comodities whatsoever unto the said Messuage or Tenement and premises belonging or in anywise appertaineing which said Messuage and premises are now in the occupacon of me the said John Wilkinson and Richard Monday And also all that little Close in Gore field aforesaid called Pear Tree Close and also all that Close of pasture in Gore field aforesaid called the great Close and also all that little Meadow Adjoineing to the aforesaid Close of pasture called the great Close And also all that piece of ground lyeing in the Gore fields aforesd late being a Spinney or Coppice of Wood containeing by Estimacon Tenn Acres and also all that other Close of pasture in Gore field aforesd called the Sawpitt Close and all other my Lands Tenements Meadows Woods Closes Underwoods trees hedges hedgrowes by Estimacon Tenn Acres and also all that other Close of pasture in Gore field aforesd called the Sawpitt Close and all other my Lands Tenements Meadows Woods Closes Underwoods trees hedges hedgrowes ways Easements Comons proffitts and Comodities whatsoever belonging or in anywise appertaineing unto the aforesd Messuage or Tenement Closes of pasture ground and premises or otherwise lyeing and being in Gore field aforesaid Upon this condition notwithstanding that my said Sonn John and his heires doe and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto my three daughters Elizabeth Anne and Joyce Wilkinson and to eny of them the several and Respective sume and sumes of two Hundred pounds apeice of lawfull money of England within SIx Months next after my decease and if my said Sonn John and his heires shall Neglect or refuse to pay unto my said three daughters Elizabeth Anne and Joyce or either of them their severall and respective legacys of two Hundred pounds apiece by the time before lymitted then I give and devise all and singular the said Messuage or Tenement Severall Closes of pasture ground Meadow ground and premises with the Appurtenances in Gore field aforesd unto my Trusty and well beloved ffriends Thomas Pargiter of Parsenham in the County of Northton Gent and James Horton of Grafton Regis in the County of Northton Gent and to their heires and Assignes forever Upon this Trusted Confidence that they the said Thomas Pargiter and James Horton and their heires shall Mortgage Sell or other wise dispose of all my said Estate and premises in Gore field aforesd for the raiseing of my said three daughters porcons and with the money soe raised shall pay unto them and the sume of two Hundred pounds apiece and after my said three daughters shall be fully satisfied their Severall and Respective legacys then my Will and Meaneing is that the overplus of the money that shall be raised out of the said Estate and premises soe sold or disposed of as aforesd shall be paid by the said Thomas Pargiter and James Horton and their heires unto my said Sonn John Wilkinson his heires or Assignes they the said Thomas Pargiter and James Horton deducting out of the Overplus soe to be returned all such reasonable Closes and Charges as they shall be at in the Execution of this Trust  reposed in them Item I give and bequeath unto my said three daughters Elizabeth Ann and Joyce Wilkinson the sume of two Hundred pounds apeice to be paid unto them Respectively within Six Months next after my decease by my said Sonn John and his heires out of my said Estate and premises in Gore field as aforesd and my Will and Meaneing further is that if any of my said daughters Elizabeth Anne or Joyce shall happen to departe this life before her or their legsacy or legacys shall be raised and paid as aforesd that then and in such case the legacy or legacys of her or them soe dyeing shall be Equally devided amongst the survivor or survivors of them the said Elizabeth Ann and Joyce Item I give devise Will and bequeath unto my Sonn Thomas Wilkinson the sume of Twelve pound a yeare dufeing the Terme of his Naturall life for his Maintenance after the decease of Mary my now Wife to be paid unto him yearly by my said Sonn John and his heires at the four most usuall ffeasts or Tearmes in the yeare (That is to say) the Annunciacon of the blessed Virgin Mary St John the Baptist St Michael the Arch Angel and St Thomas the Apostle by four Equall parts or porcons the first payment therefore to begin and be made at the first of the said ffeasts which shall next happen after the decease of Mary my said Wife which said Sume of twelve pounds a yeare shall be paid unto my said Sonn Thomas by my said Sonn John and his heires out of my said Messuage Lands Tenements and hereditaments in Gore field aforesaid And if my said Sonn John or his heires shall make default of payments of the said Twelve pounds a yeare or any part thereof at either or any of the said ffeasts or days of payment upon which the same shall become due in any yeare that then my Sonn Thomas shall enter upon all or any .....of my said Messuage Lands Tenements Closes of pasture Meadow ground and premises with the Appurtenances in Gore field aforesaid and the same have hold use occupye possess and enjoy until he be fully paid the same and arrears thereof  if any shall be due at the time of the makeing such entry Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonn Thomas Wilkinson one Bedstead with the Bedd Bedding and furniture unto the same belonging Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Hooton the Wife of Thomas Hooton one Shilling Item I give and devise unto my Sonn John Wilkinson twenty Shillings Item I give and devise unto my deare and loveing Wife Mary Wilkinson all my Goods and Chattells whatsoever of what Nature or quality soever they be for the better Maintenance of herselfe and of my Sonn Thomas Wilkinson and for the payment of my debts legacys and ffuneral Expences Item I give and devise unto the poore people of the Parish of Hanslapp aforesaid the sume of ffive pounds to be distributed by the Overseers of the said parish for the time being amongst the said poore people one halfe thereof one the ffeast day of St Thomas Apostle Next ensueing the day of my decease and the other Moity or halfe     thereof one the said ffeast day of St Thomas which shall be in the yeare then next ffollowing And I doe hereby Constitute and Appoint my said loveing Wife Mary Wilkinson Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I doe hereby nominate and Appoint my said friends Mr Thomas Pargiter and Mr James Horton Overseers of this my last Will desireing them to see the same .... formed Accordingly And I doe hereby Revoake all former Wills and Testaments by me anywayes heretofore made or declared In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above Written John Wilkinson Senior Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Wilkinson the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament  in the presence of us and Attested in the presence of the Testator by us Thomas Dryden the marke of Elizabeth Jones Hen. Wagstaffe
