In the Name of God Amen the fourth day of August 1688 according to the Account or Computation of the Church of England I John Harmon of Hanslopp in the County of Bucks yeoman being of perfect memory and Remembrance praised be God for it doe make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and fforme ffollowing ffirst I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my maker hopeing that through the Meritorious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness for all my sins And as for my Body to be Buryed in Christian Buryal at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named Imprimis I Give to my Grandsonn John Harmon the sume of fforty pounds to be paid to him within one yeare after my decease and to be Imployed after the best manner that may conveniently be for his use Item I give to my Grandsonn William Harmon the sume of fforty pounds to be paid to him within one yeare after my decease and to be Imployed as aforesaid by his brothers for Williams use Item I give to my three Grandaughters Hanna Harmon Elizabeth Harmon and Mary Harmon the sume of Twenty pounds apeice to be paid to them within one yeare after my decease And also all my household goods to be Equally devided betweene my three Grandaughters before named Item I give to my servant Margaret Travell the sume of ffive pounds within one yeare after my decease Item I give to my mother the sume of ffive shillings to be paid to her at my death Item I give to my sister Elizabeth Ablethorpe the sume of ffive shillings to be paid her at my death Item I give to my sister Ann Bradshaw the sume of ffive shillings to be paid her at my death Also my will is that if any of my ffive Grandchildren dye before they come to the Age or before they be marryed they are to be one anothers heires Item I give to my servant Joseph Tommasin the sume of on shilling I doe nominate and appoint my loveing sonn John Harmon to be my full and whole Executor and he to pay and discharge all my lawfull debts and funerall charges In Witness whereof I doe sett to my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written the marke of John Harmon the Elder sealed and delivered in the presence of John Harris the marke of Joseph Tommasin: John Lee
