Line 1 - The above is transcribed from the probate copy of the will. The probate clerk may have
made a transcription error at the end of the line, as the date of 1500 seems too early if the probate
was granted in 1539. In addition, the words "and also" make little sense in the context.
Lines 6, 9, 19 - "kyen" or "kyne" = kine, an archaic word for cows
Line 7 - "coppy" might be a garbled version of occupy, ie occupancy
Line 16 - "trentall" means 30
Line 18 - "forten" presumably means fortune
Lines 25, 26 - "strike" is an old measure of dry goods, usually equivalent to a bushel
Line 26 - the distinction between gifts at the high altar, and to the rood light, is not understood
