In the name of god allmightie the ffather, the sonne and the holy ghoste on the tenth daie of June in the yeare of our lord God 1639  I Bennet Ellis of Hanslopp in the countie of Bucks yeoman, beinge sicke and weake in bodie, but of sounde and perfect memory, thankes be to god, doe constitute ordaine and make this my last will and testament;  Imprimis I bequeath and comend my soule into the handes of god my gratious creator and most mercifull redeemer, and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Hanslopp by the south porch as nigh to the grave of my sonne Raphe deceased as may be in sure and certaine hope of resurrection to eternall life;  and for my worldly goods I thus dispose of them in manner followinge;  I give to my sonne Samuell five pounds to be paide to him next michellmas;  I give allsoe to my sonne Thomas eight pounds to be paid him within fower yeares after my decease;  if Joane my now wife doe live so longe; but if she depart this life before the tearme of the fower yeares be expired, then the said eight pounds shall be paide and come to him within one month after her decease;  I give allsoe to my sonne Richard ffiftie shillinges to be paide to him presently after my decease and other ffiftie shillinges to be paide to him at his next returne into England; Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth tenn pounds to be paide to her at her daie of marriage, if she marrie with a man with her mothers good likeinge and I allsoe give to her tenn pounds more to be paide to her within a month after her mothers decease;  All my other goods lands and chattells, my debts legacies, and funerall rites discharged, I give to Joane my well beloved wife, whome I make my sole executrix and of this my last will and testament I appoints and make my sonne William Ellis, and my sonne in lawe Gilbert Newton clarke overseers; and this I declare to be my last will and testament;  In witness wheareof I have sett to my hande; In the presence of Thomas Nichols of Castlethrupp his marke  Gilbert Newton, William Ellis,  Bennett Ellis
