In the Name of God Amen this Twenty Seventh day of September in the Yeare of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and sixteen I Christopher Toomes of Hanslop in the County of Bucks being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God Doe make ordayne this my Last Will and Testament That is to say  principally  ffirst of all I Give and recomend my Soule into the hands of God that Gave it And for my body I comend it to the Earth to be buryed in a Christian like and decent Manner at ye discretion of my Executors And as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this Life I Give devise and dispose of the same in the ffollowing manner and forme Imprimis I Give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife Elizabeth all my household Goods Moveables ready money Lands Messuages or Tenements after my debts and Legacyes are paid by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed dureing her Naturall Life Provided she does not Marry after my decease but Keepes her self single to breed (bring) up my Children and my will is that my Executors whom I shall hereafter Nominate as soon as they shall heare or Know that I am Dead Come and take an Inventory of all my household Goods ready money whatsoever may or can be properly be called mine and if my wife Elizabeth should be Marryed to any other Man he and she Shall be Accountable for the Same to my said Executors Untill such time as my said Executors shall think fitt to use the Sales of the Same for ye use of my two Sons William and Richard Toomes betweene which two it shall be divided as hereafter Mencond herein shall be made (viz) I Give to my Son William Toomes my house Barnes Stables and Orchards after his Mothers decease together with one Acre of Land and Grazing Immediately after his Mothers Decease or being Marryed her payeing to his Brother Richard the sume of ten pounds of Lawfull Money of Great Brittaine out of the Acre of Land lyeing in Balney field in this Parish of Handslop which said sume of ten ;pounds shall be paid him when he shall arrive at the Age of one and Twenty yeares Provided his Brother Will shall then be in possession of his Said house and Land but if he be Not in possession of his Said house and Lands that then his Brother Richard Toomes shall........ for the said Ten pounds till he is actually possessed of the said house and Land I Give also to my Son Richard Toomes all my household Goods and Moveables freely by him to be possessed and enjoyed after his Mothers decease or being Marryed to an other Man and my will is that if either of my Sons Will Toomes or Richard Toomes should dye before my wife Elizabeth Toomes or before or after she shall be Marryed to any other man that then his part shall come to the Survivor of the two Brethren and I also Give to my beloved friends Thomas Creak Richard Hillyer and Lewis Ancell the Sume of one Shilling Each of Lawfull Money And which said three persons I likewise Constitute make and ordayne my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament Ratifyeing and Confirming this and No other to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seale the day and Yeare above written Christopher Toomes Signed Sealed published pronnounced and declared by the said Christopher Toomes as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of Us the Subscribers Robert Vaus the marke of Charles Tomkins The Marke of Edward Glover
