Inthe name of God Amen the eighte daye of November Anno Domini one thousand fyve hundred nyntie one I Dame Jane Stafford of Hanslappe in the Countie of Buckingham widowe being sicke in body but of good and perfect remembrance thankes be unto Almightie god doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my Soule to Almightie god my maker and Saviour and my bodie to be buried in the channcell of Hanslappe churche aforesaid Allso I give to the mother churche of Lincolne foure pence  And to the repayringe of the churche of Hanslappe tenn shillings  And I give and bequeathe to the poore people if Hanslappe and Castlethroppe fortie shillines to be distributed amongst them at the discrecon of myne executors  ffurthermore I will and bequeathe to my Sonne Edward Stafford my best bed with the furniture and tenne pounds of money to be dilivered to hym within three monthes after his returne to England from beyond the seas  Allso I will and bequeathe to my Daughter Mary Stowrton my best velvet gowne nowe in the keepinge of Mrs Cranmore  Allso to Winifred Stowrton my crymson satten pettycoate now in the keepinge of Mistris Birche  Allso I will and bequeathe to Elizabeth Stowrton one Silver Spoone And to William Stowrtone her brother one other Silver Spoone  And to Marie Stafford my sonne Edwards Daughter one other Silver spoone  Allso I will and bequeath to Mary Stafford my daughter in Lawe my best cloake nowe in the keepinge of goodwife Lane dwelling in Turnebull  .......  Allso I will and bequeathe to every of my godchildren in Hanslappe Twelve pence a piece  Allso my will and bequest is that every of my servants shall have their wages trulye payed them which is Due unto them at the hower of my deathe with suche further recompence as to my executors shall thoughte requisite  The rest of my goodes and chattells  as well moveable as unmoveable here unbequeathed my debts being paied and my funeralle discharged  I give and bequeathe to my brother Nicholas Gorge and to Thomas Trafford whome I make my Executors of this my last will and Testament  And further I doe ordayne and appoynte my nephue John ...ase esquire and my sonne Edward Stafford esquire and my sonne in lawe Edward Stowrton esquire to be my Supervisors to see this my last will and testamente justly performed  And for there payment to be taken therein I give and bequeath to eache one of them a goulde ringe in the value of tenne shillinges  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hande and seale the daye and yere above written in the presence of theise witnesses hereundernamed Richard Troughton Thomas Travells marke Henry Morgan John Dragott Rowland Willson    Dame Jane Staffordes marke
