In the name of God Amen I John Pierse of Hansapp in the Countie of Bucks Husbandman beinge weake and sicke in bodye but of sound and perfect memory for which I give the lord praise, doe Institute ordaine and make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge, first I bequeath my soule into the mercifull protection of God, the father sonne and holye ghost not doubtinge of the mercye of my lovinge God, and that for Christ his merritts; And my bodye I comend unto the earth from whence it came to be interred in the Churchyard of Hanslapp aforesaid, at the discretion of my executrix steadfastly beleiveinge that it shall be raysed up in the latter day to a glorious resurrection and be made partaker of Eternall life, by the death and merrits of my blessed lord and saviour Jesus Christ; And as concerninge my worldly estate, I thus dispose thereof, Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife as well all that house wherein I now live togeather with the barnes stables yards orchards and gardens there unto belonginge and appertayninge as alsoe that house wherein Jane Sargent Widdow now liveth, if in case my said Wife shall happen to survive the said Jane Sargent, togeather alsoe with all those Closes or pightells whatsoever, which I late purchased of Richard Greene, To have and to hold the before bequeathed premisses with theire appurtenances unto my said loving wife for and duringe her naturall life, if in case my wife shall keepe herselfe widdowe provided alwaise that my said wife shall pay unto the above named Jane Sargent the sume or yearly rent of twentie shillings yearly duringe the naturall life of the said Jane Sargent, And alsoe that shee shall pay unto Richard Greene of Quinton his executors or assignes the sume of Tenn pounds and tenn shillings within six monthes after the decease of the said Jane Sargent, Item I further give and bequeath unto my said wife all that Close or pightell which I purchased of Thomas Church To have and to hold the said Close or Pightell unto her or her assignes, untill John Tompkins my kinsman now apprentice at London shall come forth att his apprenticeshipp if in case my said wife shall soe longe live, Item I give and bequeath all those foresaid houses and Closes which I purchased of Richard Greene and which I formerly bequeathed unto my loving wife the Close which I purchased of Thomas Church onely excepted unto Rosamonde Tompkins my kinde sister dureinge her naturall life of my said sister if shee shall happen to survive my said wife. Item I give and bequeath unto Andrew Tompkins my kinsman all those houses and closes formerly bequeathed unto my sister Rosamonde his mother, if he shall survive his said mother, To have and to hold the said houses and Closes unto him the said Andrew and his heires for ever But if it shall happen that the said Andrew shall dye before his said mother, then my will is that all and singular the houses and closes formerly bequeathed unto him the said Andrew shall be and come unto John Tompkins aforesaid and to his heires for ever if in case the said John shall survive the said Andrew and Rosomonde his mother provided alwaise that the said John shall pay unto William Tompkins Thomas Tompkins and Edward Tompkins to each of them Tenn pounds within three monthes after the said John shall enter upon the formerly bequeathed premisses, but if it shall happen that the said John shall dye before his said brother Andrew or Rosamonde his mother, Then my will is and I give and bequeath all those formerly bequeathed houses and Closes to John: unto William Tompkins his brother and to his heires for ever. Provided that the said William shall pay unto his survivinge brother or brothers to each of them Tenn pounds within three moneths next after the said William shall enter upon the bequeathed premisses Item I give and bequeath unto William Tompkins Thomas Tompkins Edward Tompkins and Mary Tompkins all those three acres and a halfe of arable land lyinge in the feilds parish and prints of Hanslapp aforesaid Provided neverthelesse that my said wife shall enioye the beane land untill shee shall have reapped the cropp thereof, And alsoe my will is that Andrew Tompkins aforesaid shall have and enioye the said three acres and a halfe of land to him and his heires forever If the said Andrew shall paye or cause to be paid unto his three brothers William Thomas and Edward and Marye his sister Twentie pounds of Current money of England, whensoever the said Andrew shall enter upon the said land But if the said Andrew shall refuse to pay the said Twentie pound to be imployed to the use and benefitt of his said brothers and sister, Then my will is that Edward Tompkins my brother shall dispose of the said land for the best advantage of his said Three sonnes and daughter, Item I give and bequeath to Edward Tompkins and Rosomonde his wife my brother and sister to either of them Twentie shillings, Item I give to Marye Tompkins my kinswoman a little brasse pott and joyned bedsted, Provided that my wife shall have the use of thereof duringe her life, Item I give unto Robert Hollis my kinsman twentie shillings, Item I give unto Elizabeth Hollis twentie shillings Item I give unto William Vausonne the sonne of Richard Vausonne twentie shillings to be imployed for his best advantage untill he shall Accomplish the age of twentie and one yeares, Item I give unto John Reeve my godsonne twelve pence Item the residue of all my goods Cattell and Chattells my debts, legacies and funerall charges first satisfied and paid, I give and bequeath unto my lovinge wife whome I make ordaine and appoint the sole executrix of this my last will and Testament , And I revokeinge all other former wills whatsoever doe publish and declare this my last will and Testament In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the fifteenth day of November in the nynth yeare of the Raigne of our soveraigne Lord Charles by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland kinge defender of the fayth and the marke of John Perse In the presence of Rich.
