In the name of God Amen the xx th daie of June Anno Dom 1610 and in the eighth yere of the rayne of our Soverayne Lord James by the grace of god king of England ffrance and Ireland defender of the faith etc. and of Scotland the thre and fortieth  I John Newman sonne of Hanslopp in the Countie of Bucks Smyth beinge sicke and diseased in my body but of good and p[er]fect remembrance (thankes be to Almightie God) Doe make and ordayne this my laste will and testament in manner and forme following  First I bequeath my soule to  god my maker and saviour and my body to be buried in the church yard of Hanslopp aforesaid  Also I geve to the mother church of Lyncolne ij d.   Item I geve and bequeath to Richard Newman my sonne All my tenement or cottage house which is sett and being in Hanslopp in Gold streete with the Landes and appurtenance thereunto belonging to hold the same to his heres and assignes for ever Except that p[ar]te thereof which Agnes fford widdow dwelleth in ....hereto  And  so much of the said tenement more as reacheth to the stone wall joine and from that joine Also so much of the yard of the said Tenement goeing alonge through said yard taking in with the said exception the three Elms and the walnut tree there growing with thro passage for all manner of carriage and cattell through the yard of the said Richards pte  And from the same stone joine directly to the street  syde taking in the Ashe tree ther with the said excepted pte  And the said Richard Newman  shall make and kepe asessment  .... betweene them which part  ... excepted    I doe geve and bequeath  to John Newman my sone and to his heres and assignes for ever   Excepte and reserved  to the same Agnes Ford that part of the house which she now dwelleth in and holdeth during her natural life  Also I geve and bequeath more to my said sonne Richard the summe of Thirteene poundes sixe shillings and eight pence partlie in consideracon of a certaine debt I owe him and in satisfacon thereof  Also I geve and bequeath to my said sonne John  the halfe acre of land with the appurtenance  which I purchased of Jacob Jenkynes lying in Richards feild to hold to him and his heres and assignes for ever.  Also I geve and bequeath to John my said sonne and to his heres and assignes for ever  All that my acre of land part of the Tenement of my sonne Richard Newman  ......... whereof   one halfe acre  ....  Guy ffosters close and the other halfe Acre ........................     Also I geve and bequeath to my said sonne John the sume of forty Marks of lawfull money of England To be paid to him within two yeres next after my decease  And the said xiij pounds  vj shillings  viij pence geven to my said sonne Richard shallbe paid him or his assignes within one yere next after my decease   Also I geve to my said sonne John a bedstede a matrice a bolster a pilloe a pair of tyre hempe sheets a covering and one blankett  Also I geve and bequeath to Jane my daughter and to her assignes the summe of fortye Marks of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within three yeres next after my decease   And to her more a bedsted a matrice a bolster a pilloe and a pair of Blanketts my best covering and one kirsenying sheete and three pair of other sheets and a table cloth and halfe all my pewter one brasse kettell and a brasse pott and one coffer  Also I geve and bequeath to Elisabeth my daughter fortie marks of lawfull money of England to be paid her within foure yeres next after my decease.  And to her more one bedsteede a flock bed a bolter a pilloe a paire of blanketts a coverling one kirsenying sheete and three paire of other sheets my best brasse pott and a brasse kettell and my best coffer  And to my daughter Jane a silver ring and a silver pyn. And to Elsabeth my daughter a pair of silver hookes  And to my daughter Elsabeth halfe all my pewter and my Cubbard.  Also I geve and bequeath to Richard and John my sones all the Tymber I have lying at the pynfold to be devided betwene them towards the repair of their houses  Item my will is that yf any of my children dye before they have receyved their stocke and Legacies afore geven them  That then their p[ar]t or p[ar]ts so dying shall remane to all the other of my said children then lyving equally to be devided betwene them.  Also I geve to my kinswoman Agnes Ford widow forty shillings which I owe her and a pair of sheets  And to her more a strike of malt and  a strike of barley to be paid her yerely during her lyfe every quart of a yere one peck of each sort  Also my will is that my brother Richard Newman shall have his cottage house he now dwelleth in during the contynewance of the lease   Except the landes in the nether feild parcell of the same which shall remayne to my Executor during the lease.  And afterwards to remane to my brother Richard   And he the said Richard my  brother shall pay the dewes and Rents goeing on.... of the same  Also I geve and bequeath to Harry Newman my sone and to his heres and assignes for ever   All those my three Lees of ground lyeing on the backsides the Towne howse adioning to the Churche yard   Also my will is that my executor shall have unto his owne use all such ground he so.. uppon the said landes within the said three yeres after my decease and one demesne and take the grasse or have therin growing uppon the same  And my will is that my said sonnes Richard and John shall not enter uppon  their parte of the land  geven them untill  three yeres be fully endured after my decease except the said tenement which shalbe to the use of    .......... after my decease  Also I geve and bequeath to my sister Ellin Good halfe a quarter of malte  And to the good wife Cockington another halfe quarter if malte   And to my Gossop Goody Hill one strike of malte Also I geve to each of my godchildren iiij d a pece  And to all the poore wydowes in Church End iiij d apece  And to Richard Backhouse his children iiij d  And to  Goody Bennet iiij d Also I geve to my sone Richard my paire of new botes and a pair of upper hosen All the rest of my goods and moveables hre unbequeathed I geve and bequeath to Harry Newman my sone whom I make Executor of this my last will and testament  And I doe make my Cosene Edward Newman Thomas Coxe William Arpinne and Bennet Birchmore my overseers to see this my last will fullfilled and for their paines ij shillings  vj pence a pece  Also my will is that if any of my sonnes doe sell their partes or Tenements that then he that will so sell  his parte shall offer the same to my sone Harry before any other persons   And the said Harry shall paie no more for it then another  .... will doe   In Wittnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yere above written   Signed John Newman    Wittnesses hereof are these persons hereunder named in whose presence this will was sealed and delivered  Rowland Hall Sn.  Edward Newman  Thomas Coxe William Arpinne his marke Bennet Birchmore  Proved 7th August 1610
