In the name of God Amen:  I Edmund Edes of Hansloppe, in the countie of Bucks:  beinge sicke of bodie, but of good and perfect remembrance thankes be given to allmightie God, doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge;  ffirst I comitt my soule into the hands of allmightie God, my maker my saviour and redeemer. and my bodie to be buried in  the churchyard of Hanslopp  Item I give and bequeath to Annie my wife, all that my tenement or howse in longe streete in Hanslopp with my cloase adioyninge to the same, and one acre of arrable lande in ladie lande feilde duringe her naturall life; and all the rest of my goodes I give unto my wife allso towardes the bringinge upp of my children, if she keepe her selfe a widowe, and after the decease of my saide wife I give my saide howse cloase and lande and all the rest of my goodes, which my wife shall have at her decease to be equally devided between them namely Anne and Elizabeth my twoe daughters;  but if Annie my wife doe marry againe it is my will that she shall give unto my said daughters twentie nobles to be equally devided betwixt them, within one halfe yeare after she shall so marrye  and my will is that if God should take away my wife by death out of this worlde before my chilldren come to the age of discretion, to use theire portions, that my cosen Thomas Hatley shall have the orderinge and disposeinge of all these thinges for the chilldrens use and benefit he puttinge in suerties for the same accordinge to the lawe, whome I allsoe make my overseer of this my laste will and testament, and I make my wife Annie executor of the same will;  witness heareunto Thomas Church and Thomas Hatley
