Anno Dom 1639 In the name of God Amen I Margarett Newman of Hanslopp in the Countie of Bucks widdowe beinge resonable well in body but of good and perfect memory thankes bee to god for it doe make and bequeath this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge ffirst I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of almighty god my maker Saviour and Redeemer and my body to bee buryed in the Churchyard of Hanslopp. Item I give unto myt sonne John ffisher tenn pounds. Item I give unto William Newman my sonne fortye shillinges. Item I give unto Anne Newman Margarett Wethered and widdow Master my daughters twentye shillinges apeece And to either of these my three daughters two paires of sheetes apeece and a dozen of napkins and all my wareinge Linnen to bee equallyt divided amongst my three daughters before specified and all these my legacyes giveninge to my children to bee paid by my executors within one yeare after my decease. Item I give unto each one of my Grandchildren fortye shillings a peece which shall bee then liveinge at my decease to bee paid unto them as they come to the age of one and twentye yeares or their day of marriage which shall first happen. Item I give unto Edward Newman the sonne of William Newman the cupboard standinge in the hall of the sayd William Newman his father. And all the rest of my goods Cattell and Cattell (Chattels) whatsoever and in whose hands soever I give and bequeath unto Robert Newman my sonne whome I make my whole executor of this my last will and Testament bearinge date the 25th day of May. Item I give unto Elizabeth Thenon my Grandchild a coffer and my best bolster Item I give unto William Masters eldest daughter my best coffer and a bolster and I request my brother Thomas Travell and my Cozen Henry Newman to bee my Overseers of this my last will and Testament giveinge them for their paines twelve pence a peece The marke of Margarett Newman In the presence of us Wittnesses Henry Newman Henry Newman Junior Proved the 5th day of June 1640 |
