In ye Name of God Amen I William Clarrige of Hanslopp in ye County of Bucks Mason being this Sixteenth day of March in ye yeare of our Lord God according to ye account of our Church of England One Thousand Sixe Hundred ffifty and Nine very Sick and Weake in body but in my perfect Sence and memory thankes be to god for it and knoweing ye frailty of man's Life do ordaine and make this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and forme as followeth ffirst I bequeath my Soule into ye hands of Allmighty god who gave it me and to Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer whom I holy rely for ye redemention thereof my bodey to be decently buried at ye descretion of my executrix hereafter named And as for my wor[dl]ly goodes which ye Lord hath lent me I will and doe give in manor and form as followeth Item I doe give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Al[i]ce Clarrige all ye peece and parcell of ground with ye house which I latly built hereupon which I purchased of Mr Henry Lane of ye same to which it is nowe bounded and soeforth betwene William Smith and me as by my deed more large may and doth appeare when relation thereunto is had and made during her naturall life she not making any wast upon any part of ye premisses and after her life my will is and I doe give ye same to my well beloved daughter Al[i]ce Clarrige and to her heires and assignes for ever if she doe live to Marrie or to accomplish ye age of One and twenty yeares of age to despose of ye same Otherwayes my will is and I doe give ye same to my Cosen Thomas Clarrige ye Sonne of John Clarrige of Stoney Stratford and to his heires and assignes for ever Item all ye rest of my worly goodes catell and housold stufe with my just and due debt I will and doe give to my said Wife for and during her life time and afterwards to remaine to ye use of my said daughter Al[i]ce Clarrige and to her heires and assignes for ever my just and due debts and funerall being by my said wife discharged Which said wife and daughter Al[i]ce Clarrige I doe appoynt to be ye sole executrixes of this my last Wille and testament and I doe appoynt my loving friendes and Neighbours William Hillyer ye elder yeoman and William Smith Cordwainer to be ye overseers of this my last Wille and testament In WItness whereunto I doe set my hand and sealle ye day and yeare above said the marke of William Clarrige and doe publish and declare this above written to be my last Wille and Testament in ye presence of  The marke of Sarrah Cooke William Ashby
