In the Name of God Amen  the 21st of May in the yeare of our Lord God 1687 I John Hilliar of Hanslop in the County of Bucks being Sicke and weake in Body but of perfect minde and memory thanks be to God therefore Calling to minde the mortallity of my Body and knowing that is is appointed for all men once to dye doe make and ordayne this my last Will and Testament  in manner and fforme ffollowing that is to say ffirst and principally I give my Soul into the hands of God who gave it me and for my Body I comend it to the Earth to be buryed in Christian manner in  the Churchyardd in Hanslop nothing doubtin g but at the generall Resurrection I shall Receive the same againe by the mighty power of God and Touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with withall in this Life I give devise and bequeath and dispose in the manner and fforme ffollowing Imprimis I give unto my Cozen Marke Parrot of Castle Thrope (Wife to John Parrot my House and Homsteed and the little Close Called or knowne by the name of the little blow dureing her natural Life and then to her daughters that shall be then alive and liveing I give unto my Cozen Henry Hilliar my Cozen William Hillear second Sonn Six Acres of Arrable Land in the three fields where they lye that is to say two Acres in Walledurns field the Acre next to the balke between Thomas Saulle and him and the other Acre of his at the over end of the same field next to the blounse land six of them short lands buting upon the land in the other fields that is to say in the field called or knowne by the name of Ladyland field two Acres more three landes to the Acre two lyeing betweene Henry Newman of the West Side and Thomas Saule on the East Side the single land on the Crose furlong butting upon a Close of Henry Herbert Esq the other Acre in the same field upon the long furlong butting upon the land with the alley hades and green sword ground thereto belonging that is to say two of the 3 lands next to the towne land in the occupation of Mr Alline the other two Acres in Richards fielde the three lands on long furlong next to the land in the occupation of Richard Brafilde East butting on a hedland in the Occupation of Mr Alline the other Acre in the furlong shooting upon a little Close of Henry Herbert Esq in the occupation of Robert Johnson three lands next to the land of Henry Herbert Esq in the Occupation of ffrancis Willison North with the hades  I give to him the peice of grass ground that lyeth in Wallroandes ffield at the neither End of the land of Henry Herbert Esq in occupation of Richard Braffield to An Brafield my brass pan Item I give  to Elizabeth Surridge my house keeper ffive pounds to pay six months after my Decease Item I give to Henry Hillear my best Brass Kettle Item I give to Mary Hilliar my Cozen William Hilliars Daughter on acre and halfe of Arrable land on Acre in Richards field on the long furlong next to the land in the occupation of  William Smith west belong to Sir Peter Tyrril baron Night the other halfe Acre in ladyland field on the long furlong Shooting upon the land next to his own house the land of Henry Herbert Esq in the occupation of ffrancis Willison West Item I give to William Smith the Elder after my decease Tenn Shillings to be paid by my Executor  Item I give to Edward Newman 2s 6d to buy him on pr of Gloves Item I give to my Cozen William Hilliar my great Bible Item I give to Cozen Richard Braffields two Children Tenn Shillings apeice to be paid after my Decease Item I give to Elizabeth Surridges daughter on paire of the best sheetes and on blanckett Item I give to Ann Brafield wife to Richard Brafield my best Chest that is in my house Item I give to Elizabeth Suridge my Bedd that I lye on with all the furniture belongin with the Curtaines Item my will is that my Executrix shall expend at my ffunerall six pound and to pay all my just debts  Item I give to Mary Hobcroft my best Coate  If my Executrix shall refuse to Expend the six pound at my ffunerall my overseer shall have power to sell my crop or anything that I have not disposed in my will and of this my last will I ordaine my well Beloved Cozen Marke Parrott wife to John Parrott of Castle Thrope my ffull Executrix and I doe hereby disalow Revoake all other Wills and Testaments and Executors and Executrixes by me any wise made and ordained rattifying and confirming this to be last Will and Testament  In Witness hereunto I have here sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare above written  Signed Sealed published and pronounced and declared in and by me John Hilliar the marke of John Hillear In the presence of Edward Newman the marke of Elizabeth Ablethorp: the marke of Ann Church I shall desire my neighbour William Smith and Edward Newman to be Overseers of my last Will
