In the Name of God Amen I John Rawlins Sen. of Greene end in the parish of Hanslapp in the County of Bucks Yeoman being Weake in Body but of perfect minde and memory (thanks be given to God therefore) doe make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and fforme ffollowing (that is to say) ffirst and principally I recomend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God Nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same againe by the Merits of my Blessed Redeemer And my Body I comend to the Earth to be buryed in decent and Christian Maner by my Executor hereafter named And as touching my worldly Estate which the Lord in Mercy beyond my defects hath lent me I give and bequeath in maner and fforme ffollowing Imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my Loveing Wife Ellin Rawlins ffive pounds p ann dureing her Naturall Life as an augmentacon to her Joynture and also one halfe parte of all my household Goods Item I give and devise unto my Sonn Thomas Rawlins one Cottage situate standing and being in Greene end in the parish of Hanslapp aforesaid now in the Tenure or Occupation of William Cooke his Assigne or Assignes to hold to him and his heires forever Item I give and bequeath unto my said Sonn Thomas Rawlins one Close of pasture Ground lyeing in Greene end aforesaid one other Close of pasture called Margaretts Croft and one other pightell or Close of pasture Ground called Broad place lyeing Neere a field called highcroft and one other little close more called Howes corner lyeing Neere the field called Hye field in Hanslapp aforesaid upon condition Nevertheless and my minde and will is that my said Sonn Thomas Rawlins shall pay unto my two Grandchildren ffrances Cooke and William Cooke the sume of Threescore pounds of lawfull money of England That is to say Thirtypounds apiece ffrances to be paid within two years Next after my decease and William three years Next after my decease but if either of my said Grandchildren shall dye before their or either of their legacies shall become due then the legacies of him or her soe dyeing shall be paid unto the survivors of them Item I give and bequeath unto my said sonnThomas Rawlins All that my ffarme house with the Barnes Stables Outhouses and appurtenances situate standing and being in Greene end in the parish of Hanslapp aforesaid together with all the arrable Land pasture Meadow ground Comons and Comon of pasture hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging and appertaineing And alsoe all that Cottage or Tenement with the appurtenances situate standing and being in Greene End aforesaid now in the Tenure or Occupation of William Smith or his Assignes to have and to hold the same ffarmehouse Cottage Lands Tenements hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever unto the same premises belonging or appertaineing unto my said Sonn Thomas Rawlins and the heires Male of his Body Lawfully begotten or to be begotten for ever Item all my debts securityes for Money ready Money Goods Chattells Cattell Stock of Graine and Implements of husbandry and halfe my household goods after my debts Legacies and ffunerall Expences are paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my saide Sonn Thomas Rawlins and I doe hereby Constitute and appoint my said Sonn Thomas Rawlins Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament requireing him truely to perform the same And doe hereby desire and appoint my Sonn in Law Stephen Gawthorne of Sywell in the County of Northampton and my Kinsman Richard Bacchus of Beachampton in the County of Bucks to be Overseer to this my Will Intreating them to be Aiding and Assisting unto my said Executor in the due Execution of this my Will and I doe hereby revoake all former Will and Codicills by me any Waies heretofore made or declared In Witness whereof I John Rawlins have sett my hand and Seale the 22 of January Anno Dom 1698 John Rawlins Signed and Sealed and published by the Testator in our presence and after in  his presence subscribed by us John Stevens Sen.
