July the 25th in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ one thousand seven hundred and three this will was made

In the name of God Amen I William Smith of Hanslop being of perfect memory doe make and ordaine these following lines to be my last will and testament as ffolloweth trusting to be saved by the mercy and merritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ revoking all other wills and settlements whatsoever by me made or done Imprimis I give to my daughter Hanah Smith all my ffree land  undisposed to her and her heires for ever that is to say one Close next to the Comon ffield commonly calledby the name of ......Ground and ffield one little peece of Ground next to Stoke green with mounds belonging to both the parcells of ground  Next I give unto John Smith my Sonne Tenn Shillings I give to my Sonne Samuel Smith Tenn shillings more I give to my Grandson  Wm Smith the sonne of John Smith fforty shillings I give to Mary Smith the daughter of Samuel Smith the sume of fforty Shillings more I give to William Smith my Grandsonne the sonne of John Smith one Bedstead that I lye on with one of my long tables which my daughter shall most willing part with I give to my Sonne John Smiths Three Children James Smith Betty Smith and Anne Smith five shillings apeece I give to my Sonne Samuell Smiths Three Children Jonathan Smith Betty Smith and Anne Smith five shillings apeece more I give to my daughter Hanah Smith all my rest of my worldly goods and personall Estate to me belonging these legacies to be paid when my daughter can sell the land and receive the money into her hands and not before I desire my Sonne John to assist his Sister in the sale of it he shall for every days work he spends about the sale of it six pounds a day this I publish to be my last will and testament William Smith ye elder in the presence of viz William Hillier Henry Hillier the marke of Mary Abethorp
