Listed building
The building is listed with particulars as follows.
There seems to have been a building on this site since 1796. The original part of the present house is stone built, with a front door in the middle of the east face, and a window symmetrically on either side. It also has a cellar reached by a trap door inside the house. A later brick extension continued north, and to connect this an arched entrance was cut through the original stone wall. The brick extension was probably for livestock and had a door in the east face. Opposite this door there was a separate brick-built two room shed which was almost certainly not intended for human habitation, about 3 metres wide. At its north end there was a large door opening onto the street. The half nearest the house (i.e. the west end) has a fireplace and a chimney. The space is too small to make heating worth while so it must have been for some activity which needed heating. The shed is now joined to the house and the space between has been enclosed. There was a well between the buildings (the water level being about 5 metres down).
