Summary

This is a building of urban-type plan, such as is more usually seen in larger towns, where the living accommodation with its side access lies behind a front bay used for the owner’s trade activity. This, and part of a single roof truss, indicate a later 17th century date for the primary construction.

In the 1920's. The shop is the second building from the right in this photograph.

Sometime in the middle of 20th Century. Shop is in centre of picture. At this time it was a butchers shop run by the Horne family. At the time there was a slaughter house at the back. It was converted to a Grocers and General Store in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

Believed to be from 1930s.
16 High Street is to shop only partly visible on the extreme right of this photograph, displaying the name "Horne".

In April 2006; then known as The Pine Shop.
