The earliest surviving part of Green Manor is a late medieval building of 1¹/₂ stories which originally had a gable end to Market Square.  This end of the building was later demolished to make way for a substantial stone three bay 17th century house facing Market Square.  This house has some fine fireplaces, including one which appears to have been rescued from an earlier building.

The building is likely to have been a private dwelling until the first half of the 19th century.  In the second half of the 18th century it was occupied by Joseph Brittain, three of whose daughters married sons of senior figures in the village.

The building became the Green Man pub sometime between 1818 and 1851, and then remained a pub at least until it closed in 1956.  By 1910 it was owned by Aylesbury Brewery.

Rubblestone, partly rendered and colourwashed. 3 bays. 2 storeys with attic. Concrete plain tile roof. Mostly modern casement windows, but stone framed ones, some of 2 lights with mullions to north east gable and south east elevations. North west front 3 light casements. On ground floor evidence of stone hood moulds to original windows. Coped gables with kneelers and end stacks with stone bases and brick upper parts.
