The Cock Inn is in the centre of the photograph. Behind it to the top left of the photograph is the roof of these cottages. Behind the cottages is Gold Street.
At this period, the main entrance to the cottages was to High Street, in the lower right of the photograph. The access path with the gardens of the cottages on either side is visible to the right of the Cock.
