This is believed to be the earliest of the available photographs of the Green Man.  This photograph was supplied by a descendent of Henry Newbury.  Henry was recorded as the Inn Keeper of the Green Man in the censuses for 1861 to 1891, but had left by 1901.  The family say that on the original photograph Henry Newbury's name can be seen on the sign.
