There were 6 houses in Caucutts Yard. No.1 was nearest the road, and no.2 was the next. Both have been demolished.
The buildings still standing appear to have been 4 cottages in the past, but have now been combined to form two homes. In a map of 1779 this plot was owned by William Kitelee who a scuessful lace dealer and a major land-owner. This plot is described as 'Mr Kitelee's homestead and tenement adjoining'.By 1818 the plot has passed to Thomas Kitelee and is described as 'House and Garden'. |
